The information contained in this database has NOT been
verified and/or confirmed by specialists in the field, but serves
to provide users with a starting point to identifying the legislative
and non-legislated tools available in the management of water and
wastewater in Canada from centralized, largely municipal facilities.
The database is being developed by CWWA with the assistance and support
of Health Canada, the Federal/Provincial/Territorial Committee on
Drinking Water, The Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment
(CCME) and the generous support of the Alberta and the British Columbia
Real estate Foundations. The two Foundations jointly operate www.landcentre.ca
that contains a searchable database relevant to real-estate issues.
This site and the Land Centre site will be linked.
It is hoped that, through the use of tools such as this web-based
database, industrial, municipal, commercial academic, private owners,
and agricultural sectors will share their resources and knowledge
leading to some consistency in approach to water and wastewater management
in Canada.
We also encourage any regulating agency to provide us with updates
to the types of tools being used in their jurisdiction.
