Subject: CWWA Executive Director

The Board of Directors of CWWA is pleased to announce that the search for a new Executive Director has been completed. Robert Haller has been selected as the new CWWA ED and he begins this role on May 01, 2012.  Robert brings over 20 years of organizational leadership to the Executive Director role, with increasingly responsible roles in small and mid-size communities in Ontario. He has worked with the City of Ottawa, the Township of Goulbourn, the Town of Prescott  and the Tay Valley Township, working up to Chief Administrative Officer  in the last two assignments. Immediately before joining CWWA, Robert was working as a municipal consultant in the area of community development, business planning and project leadership.

Robert has been passionate about the water and wastewater industry for many years and completed his Masters in Public Administration with a focus on municipal water issues. Robert reports that he “is very proud to accept this leadership position as Executive Director for CWWA and looks forward to working with CWWA members to face the challenges ahead”.

In every location that Robert has worked and lived, he has proven to be a strong and committed member of the community. At present, Robert lives in Prescott, Ontario, with his wife and two children, and he volunteers as a baseball coach and community festival organizer. Please join the Board in welcoming Robert to the CWWA, where we have every reason to believe that Robert will bring passionate and rewarding leadership to the CWWA.

A very special note of thanks from the Board goes to Duncan Ellison, who stepped back in as Executive Director since January 25, 2012 on an interim basis. Duncan, once again, brought his passion and dedication to the Association and to the water industry and provided an incredible bridging service to us. Undoubtedly, Duncan will continue to be a valuable advocate and resource to the water industry even as he eases back into retirement while continuing to pursue his related commitment to standardization activities in the water and water services areas. Thank you, Duncan, for your support and dedication.
