Investment saved/deferred: 10000000 per 15
Description/Comments: The above savings are only for wastewater. The intent is to postpone an expansion of the construction of an addition to the wastewater plant.

Advice

What Worked Well: The program represents a successful public-private partnership between Shlumberger and the City of Kelowna. Launching an educational program at the same time as the metering program was undertaken and the continuation of the program over the year before metered water rates actually commenced. In this way, the program was able to explain the new rates and the impact of seasonal water use on the water bill.
