Canadian Legislation and Substance/Quality Database
This database is under development.

The data contained in it has NOT been verified and confirmed with the competent authorities concerned and the search patterns and search fields may be changed with experience. Data entered will eventually be in English or French or both, depending on the language policies of the jurisdiction concerned, and the final screens will be bilingual.

This database is being developed by CWWA with the support of Health Canada and the FPT Subcommittee on Drinking Water, The Canadian Council of Ministers of Environment, Environment Canada and the generous support of the Alberta and the British Columbia Real Estate Foundations. The two Foundations jointly operate www.landcentre.ca which contains a searchable database relevant to real-estate issues. This site and the Land Centre site will be linked.

You may search this database to identify the Legislation that is applicable to managing water uses and discharges in Canada, the Requirements that are imposed under them, or for the Substance/quality parameters that apply, through the Search functions below. Before doing so, you might like to check some Frequently Asked Questions about water and wastewater regulatory requirements in Canada for which the search has already been done.
