Safe Drinking Water Policy Statement: The City of North Battleford Council and Administration are irrevocably committed to provide the community with good quality and safe drinking water through the City waterworks.
Key Indicators:
Good and safe drinking water quality will be demonstrated by:
- Water that is free of pathogenic organisms and of any harmful concentrations of chemicals or other substances as may be identified in provincial drinking water requirements, guidelines, objectives, or recommendations.
- Water that is adequately disinfected.
- Water that is aesthetically acceptable.
Priority Measures:
The following essential measures will be undertaken to ensure the provision of good and safe drinking water.
- Protection of Water Sources and Watersheds within the City's Jurisdiction and Influence
- Quality Control, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement Programs

Mission: Water Treatment Section:
To provide a safe potable water of adequate supply and pressure, accurately monitored and controlled, for our current and future customers and that the measurement of the water consumed by our customers is accurately, efficiently and effectively accomplished so as to secure cost effective delivery of potable water and wastewater treat-ment into the future. Quality service will be maintained and improved by striving to keep the staff and facilities current with changes in the water service industry to ensure provincial regulatory guidelines are met in cost effective manner.
Mission: Wastewater Treatment Section
To enhance the quality of life for present and future citizens of Saskatoon and to enhance the river valley environment through effective and efficient pumping and treatment, solids handling and disposal associated with the City of Saskatoon's wastewater. The staff will strive to deliver optimum services by minimizing costs and staying abreast of related current technology. The operations will ensure that all wastewaters discharged into the South Saskatchewan river will meet the Provincial Permit to Operate guidelines and that solids are disposed of in an enviro-nmentally responsible manner.
