Energy Efficiency RFP Guidance for Water-Wastewater Facilities
The Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) developed The Guidance for water-wastewater utility managers and municipal officials to use in composing solicitations for design services. The Guidance has two key components: (1) it outlines RFQ/RFP structure and content and provides recommendations specific to the incorporation of energy efficiency, (2) it provides high-level information and recommendations for particular energy intensive processes.
CWWA to host Biogas Seminar in Conjunction with 2010 Window on Ottawa
Energy costs are a major expense for water and wastewater utilities with estimates that they account for up to 55% of utility budgets. With utility costs rising, and concerns over greenhouse gas emissions - energy conservation is an important initiative, not only for financial reasons, but to make our communities sustainable for future generations. Biogas is an emerging field with immense potential for wastewater utilities. This Workshop will feature case studies from communities already implementing biogas collection, companies producing cutting edge technologies that will help maximize the potential energy recovery, and generate valuable discussion as communities move forward in implementing these systems.
